1 Badly Injured in Kern County Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 99 at Herring Road

KERN COUNTY, CA (October 9, 2021) – At least one was badly injured after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 and Herring Road in Kern County.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:41 a.m.

According to CHP, three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Kern County. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 99 at Herring Road.

Multiple Vehicles Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the city of Bakersfield. They found one person left suffering from moderate injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 99 at Herring  to shut down following the wreck.

The cause of the Kern County hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
