Pedestrian Injured in Kern County Hit-and-Run on Highway 58 Near General Beale

KERN COUNTY, CA (August 5, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash near Highway 58 and General Beale Road in Kern County.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 10:40 a.m.

CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person on eastbound Highway 58, just east of General Beale Road in Kern County.

Victim Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 to shut down following the collision.

The cause of the Kern County hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
