KETTLEMAN CITY, Kings County (March 12, 2017) – A fatal head-on collision took place on Highway 41 Sunday morning, according to The Fresno Bee.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported around 5:30 a.m., just north of Quail Avenue.
As per the article, California High Patrol said a 36-year-old Fresno man was driving a 1996 GMC sedan north on Highway 41 when he drifted directly into the path of a 2016 Isuzu truck headed south.
The driver of the Isuzu, a 58-year-old Tulare man, suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
CHP mentioned the Fresno man allegedly fell asleep as he struck the other car head-on. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with a broken leg.
Meanwhile, authorities added that light fog was in the area of the deadly wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
