2 Injured in Kettleman City Hit-and-Run Crash on Southbound Interstate 5

KETTLEMAN CITY, CA (August 9, 2021) – At least two were injured after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 5 in Kettleman City.

The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck on August 8 at about 10:42 p.m.

According to CHP, a vehicle struck a Honda Civic for an unknown reason in Kettleman City. The two crashed on the southbound side of the Interstate 5, just north of Utica Avenue.

2 Vehicles Collide Near Utica Avenue

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that at least two occupants of the Honda Civic ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then treated the victims for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded patients and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that other driver did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down following the wreck.

The cause of the Kettleman City hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
