Fatal Traffic Collision Near Lakeside
East County, CA (April 20, 2022) – Kevin Carter, a 36-year-old man, died following a motorcycle accident that occurred in the area of Winter Gardens Boulevard and Sapota Drive.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune News, Carter was driving a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle heading south on Winter Gardens. Earlier reports indicated the collision took place when the motorcyclist drove through the intersection as Sapota Drive. Officials said Carter crashed into the driver’s side of a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The catastrophic incident took place on April 17, Sunday.

Shortly after 3:37 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the motorcyclist found ejected off his Harley. Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, Kevin Carter sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the 68-year-old Lakeside man driving the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident at Winter Gardens and Sapota.
