Former San Diego Chargers Football Player Killed in Pedestrian Accident
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 8, 2018) — Kevin Ellison, 31, a former USC Trojan and San Diego Chargers football player, was struck and killed last week as he walked along the Interstate 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
The young man was walking along the 5 Freeway and was reportedly disoriented. It’s unknown what exactly happened or why he was on the freeway.
The Inglewood native began his football career playing for the USC Trojans between 2005 to 2008. Later he was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2009.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability. It’s unknown at this time if he was walking on the shoulder or in freeway lanes. Police are piecing together evidence and will determine fault for this crash.
We offer our prayers to the family of Mr. Ellison as they cope with this tragedy.
