Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Harbor Freeway in South L.A.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 16, 2020) – Kevin Salazar, 26, died Monday morning in a pedestrian accident on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.
The pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles about 12:11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Harbor 110 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The young man was identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Salazar was struck in the No. 1 lane near 51st Street. Motorists told authorities that vehicles were swerving to avoid hitting the man, the CHP said.
Police closed down all lanes of the freeway and issued a SigAlert at 12:28 a.m., police said.
Eventually, traffic lanes reopened about 3:30 a.m.
The report does not say why the pedestrian was on the freeway, nor is the person’s identity disclosed.
