2 Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Nimitz Boulevard
Point Loma, CA (March 3, 2022) – Police arrested 35-year-old Kevin Thomer in relation with a deadly pedestrian accident that occurred on North Harbor Drive on January 19.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Thomer was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling on North Harbor Drive. When the driver approached the area near Nimitz Boulevard, the vehicle struck two pedestrians crossing the roadway. The horrible crash took place at about 6:05 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the two pedestrians lifeless. Authorities confirmed the victim were from Alberta, Canada. The article published online identified the fatal victims as 71-year-old Jerome Zimmer; and 69-year-old Madelyn Zimmer.
Kevin Thomer Arrested in Point Loma Pedestrian Accident
On March 3, Thursday, police arrested Thomer in relation with the catastrophic incident. Officers booked the suspect into jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
