Bicyclist Kevin Wilson, 56, Killed in El Cajon Hit-and-Run on Dehesa Road
EL CAJON (January 21, 2020) – A bicyclist was killed after an alleged hit-and-run collision along Dehesa Road near a golf course Monday morning.
According to reports by San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, authorities identified the deceased victim as 56-year-old La Mesa resident Kevin Wilson.
California Highway Patrol said the incident began when Wilson was riding a bicycle in a bike lane of Dehesa Road near the Singing Hills Golf Course.
At the same time, a 1993 Mitsubishi Mirage headed east then swerved into the bike lane. The vehicle ultimately struck the cyclist from behind.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found Wilson left lying in the roadway and suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel immediately transported the rider to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he later died. The tragic accident occurred on January 20 at about 10:45 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the male driver of the Mitsubishi Mirage continued driving to the east and south and abandoned his car on Sloane Canyon Road.
Officers found the suspect hiding in some bushes and subsequently arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
