CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. (January 24, 2023) – Kimberli Washington, 41, of Sacramento, died Sunday in a pedestrian accident on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights.
The collision occurred about 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22nd, according to the KCRA News and CBS Sacramento.
The woman was crossing in the middle lane of Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights. Meanwhile, a motorist traveling at a high speed was approaching and reportedly struck the victim.
The car reportedly veered into the traffic lane and also crashed head-on into another vehicle near Cobalt Way, the report said.
The first vehicle pushed the second vehicle into a brick barrier. Meanwhile, paramedics responded and located the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner later identified the woman as Kimberli Michele Washington.
Additionally, they transported the driver of the second vehicle to a hospital where they later died. However, the first driver suffered minor to moderate injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
Police closed down Auburn Boulevard between Cobalt and San Tomas Drive following the collision to conduct an investigation.
