Woman, 51, Killed in Winchester Collision on Simpson Road
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (June 25, 2024) — Kimberly Higgins, 51, of Hemet, died and two others were seriously injured in a crash Sunday at Simpson Road and California Avenue in Winchester.
The traffic accident happened at around 1:40 p.m. on June 23rd, according to Riverside County Fire Department and CBS News.
Three people suffered major injuries when a 17-year-old driving a Jeep allegedly broadsided their westbound Chevrolet Cruze on Simpson Road.
Paramedics transported the 53-year-old Hemet man who was driving the Chevrolet and his 13-year-old female passenger to a hospital. Meanwhile, an air ambulance transported Kimberly Higgins to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar where she died five hours later. The teenage driver from the Jeep had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Furthermore, California Highway Patrol San Gorgonio investigators are working to determine fault for the case, the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner reports.
Finally, authorities are working to confirm whether the teen driver stopped before entering the intersection.
