3-Vehicle Car Accident on State Route 43
KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 12, 2023) – Three people were injured in a 3-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 43 in Kings County.
The traffic accident occurred at around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11th, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officials reported the driver of a Chevrolet was traveling on Highway 43 approaching 5 1/2 Avenue and a second vehicle was waiting at the stop sign at 5 1/2 Avenue, Your Central Valley reports. After the Chevrolet passed by, the second vehicle entered Highway 43.
Meanwhile, a driver in a Honda traveling in the opposite direction to the second car on 5 1/2 Avenue allegedly failed to stop and hit the Chevrolet and one or both vehicles also collided with a stopped vehicle.
Paramedics responded and located two people with major injuries in the Chevrolet.
Both people were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Also, one person with moderate injuries from the Honda was also take to a hospital.
There were no other injuries reported at this time.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Kings County crash on Highway 43.
