3 Injured in Kings County Crash on Highway 41 Near Nevada Avenue
KINGS COUNTY, CA (June 9, 2021) – A head-on car crash injured three people on Highway 41 near Nevada Avenue in Kings County.
The Hanford Sentinel wrote that the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 8:55 a.m.
The incident began when a white Hyundai Elantra was going 55 mph south on Highway 41 near Nevada Avenue. At the same time, a white Ford F-150 was going roughly 80 mph north.
The pickup then tried to pass a big rig and another vehicle. The California Highway Patrol said its driver did not see the oncoming traffic in the Kings County area.
In the process, both the Hyundai and the Ford attempted to swerve out of the way and to the right but failed. The two cars collided head-on, south of Lemoore and north of Kettleman City.

The impact severely damaged the front half of the Elantra. The pickup truck continued and ultimately plowed into a dry ravine nearby.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found three people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. The motorist in the Hyundai sustained severe injuries following the wreck.
The driver and passenger of the Ford suffered minor wounds. Medical personnel took all patients to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia and Adventist Health in Hanford for treatment.
The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 41 near Nevada Avenue to close after the accident.
Authorities are still investigating the Kings County crash.
