Field Worker Killed in Collision on State Route 198 Near 28th Avenue Thursday
Kings County, CA (May 6, 2021) – One person died following a traffic accident on State Route 198 Thursday afternoon, the ABC30 News reported.
Our sources indicated two field workers were in a Chevy truck traveling on a dirt road coming from the fields. As the Chevy truck approached the highway, it ended up pulling out in front of an oncoming westbound big rig.
Deadly Car and Truck Crash in Kings County, May 6
The force from the impact ejected the two field workers from the Chevy. According to the article published online, one worker got thrown and pinned underneath the big rig. Responding medical personnel later confirmed that man died as a result of the collision. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Authorities added the second field worker sustained serious injuries. An air ambulance reportedly transported the patient to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the operator of the big rig sustained major trauma in the wreck.
Additional details on the crash have not been revealed thus far. At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the fatal car and truck accident in Kings County.
