
2 Killed, 2 Injured in Kings County Crash Near Avenal Cutoff Road and Laurel Avenue
KINGS COUNTY, CA (May 2, 2023) – A crash killed two people and injured two others near Avenal Cutoff Road and Laurel Avenue in Kings County.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on April 30 shortly after 3 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2005 Chrysler was going north on Avenal Cutoff Road, north of Laurel Avenue, in Kings County. At the same time, a Toyota was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Chrysler drifted into the southbound traffic lane.
2 Cars Collide
In the process, the car went directly into the path of the Toyota south of NAS Lemoore. The California Highway Patrol said the two vehicles then collided.
The 42-year-old Lemoore man driving the Chrysler and the driver of the Toyota, a 37-year-old man, died at the scene of the accident.
The two passengers of the Chrysler, a 48-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Avenal Cutoff Road to shut down near Laurel following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Kings County crash is still under investigation.
