Kings County crash 14th Iona Avenues
1 Killed, 2 Injured in Kings County Crash at 14th and Iona Avenues
KINGS COUNTY, CA (August 27, 2022) – A DUI crash killed one person and injured two others at 14th and Iona avenues in Kings County.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a Chevy Silverado was going north on 14th Avenue near Iona Avenue in Kings County. At the same time, a Chevy Trailblazer was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the Silverado crossed over to the opposite side of the road. The California Highway Patrol said the pickup truck then slammed head-on into the SUV.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced a passenger in the Trailblazer. a 61-year-old Hanford woman, dead at the scene.
The 61-year-old Hanford man driving the SUV sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. An air ambulance flew him to a hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel rushed the motorist in the Silverado, a 31-year-old man, for treatment of possible minor to major injuries. Officers believed he was under the influence when he struck the victims.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of 14th and Iona avenues to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Kings County crash is still under investigation.
