Pedestrian Killed in Kings County Crash Near Highway 198 and 1 1/2 Avenue
KINGS COUNTY, CA (June 12, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian near Highway 198 and 1 1/2 Avenue in Kings County.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision on June 11 at about 11 p.m.
The incident began when a car used a turning lane in an attempt to pass another vehicle near the intersection of Highway 198 and 1 1/2 Avenue.
Man Hit by Car
In the process, the car struck a male pedestrian in Kings County. The driver lost control and then slammed into the center divider.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the man down on the ground as a result of the collision. He soon died at the scene.
Medical personnel took the motorist to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Highway 198 and 1 1/2 Avenue to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the fatal Kings County pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
