
Kings County hit-and-run Excelsior 19th
Motorcyclist Injured in Kings County Hit-and-Run Crash at Excelsior and 19th Avenues
KINGS COUNTY, CA (April 4, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured an elderly motorcyclist at Excelsior and 19th avenues in Kings County.
According to an article published by the FOX 26 News, the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 1:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a motorist in a gray Toyota Tundra ran a stop sign at the intersection of Excelsior and 19th avenues. At the same time, two motorcycle riders were crossing the intersection.
One motorcyclist collided with the front side of the Toyota while the other rider was able to avoid the collision. The California Highway Patrol said both had the right of way.
Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Motorcycle Rider
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They found the first motorcyclist, a man in his 70s, who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took him to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck spun out of control and rolled over upon impact. Its female driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
CHP added that another vehicle soon picked up the woman. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist. They closed the intersection of Excelsior and 19th following the Kings County crash.
