Man Struck, Killed in Fresno is Identified

FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2023) – Kirk Filgas, 41, died in a pedestrian accident last week while crossing Kings Canyon Road and Burgan Avenue in Fresno.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the man who died on its website.

The Fresno Police Department responded to the scene at around 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20th. A driver in a pickup truck traveling eastbound struck the victim in the roadway.

They located Kirk Filgas in the roadway and paramedics performed life-saving measures on him, but sadly he later died at the scene.

The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities at the scene.
