Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Klamath Crash on Highway 101 at Wilson Creek
DEL NORTE COUNTY, CA (August 31, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 101 and Wilson Creek Road in Klamath.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:33 p.m.
According to CHP, the rider of a 2017 BMW motorcycle and a UPS truck collided for an unknown reason in Klamath. The two crashed on Highway 101 at Wilson Creek Road.
Motorcycle and UPS Truck Collide
One of the vehicles involved obtained front-end damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the DeMartin Beach Picnic Area.
Medical personnel found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the patient to the Sutter Coast Hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the truck ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision.
Officers forced on Highway 101 at Wilson Creek Road to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Klamath crash is still under investigation.
