Horse Killed, Rider Seriously injured in Knightsen Crash at Delta and Pastor
KNIGHTSEN, CA (May 21, 2022) – A crash killed a horse and seriously injured its rider at Delta Road and Pastor Lane in Knightsen.
According to The Press and East County Today, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the collision at about 9:33 p.m.
The incident happened on May 20 when a man was riding a horse in the area of Delta Road and Pastor Lane in Knightsen. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck them.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the rider in his mid 20s lying unconscious on the ground as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took him to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment of major injuries. Meanwhile, the horse died following the incident.
The reports did not release the name of the wounded person and his condition at this time. A second patient declined medical care and ended up released at the site.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Delta and Pastor to shut down after the collision. The cause of the Knightsen crash is still under investigation.
