Krista Nichols, Unborn Child Fatal Victims in Collision at Long Beach Boulevard and 52nd Street Saturday
Long Beach, CA (August 9, 2021) – Krista Nichols, a 23-year-old pregnant woman, died following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 52nd Street.
On August 7, Saturday, a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles took place at the Long Beach intersection.
The CBS Los Angeles reported Krista Nichols was a passenger in a 2006 GMC pickup traveling at a high rate of speed in the streets of Long Beach. Our sources indicated the driver of the pickup was involved in a road rage incident; and was chasing the second vehicle.
When the pickup truck approached the intersection at Long Beach Boulevard and 52nd Street, the 26-year-old male driver collided with two other cars.
Emergency teams arrived at the location shortly after 11:40 a.m. According to the article published online, first responders found Krista Nichols and a 10-year-old male passenger with injuries. An ambulance rushed the injured passengers to a hospital. Sadly, Krista Nichols and her unborn child both died as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, the 10-year-old boy remained hospitalized after the collision.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Long Beach Deadly Car Accident, August 7
Investigators later determined the driver of the GMC pickup was drunk at the time of the crash. Police then arrested the man on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Further investigation on the fatal DUI car crash in Long Beach is underway.
