Kristalinna Pacheco Arrested Milpitas Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

Stolen Vehicle Strikes, Kills Juvenile Bicyclist at Park Victoria and Kennedy Drive Monday

Milpitas, CA (January 19, 2021) – Police arrested 36-year-old Kristalinna Pacheco following a fatal hit-and-run collision in the area of N. Park Victoria and Kennedy drives Monday afternoon.

The CBS SF Bay Area News reported Pacheco was behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen vehicle.

Per local news source, police received reports of a stolen a 2015 White Lexus R35 in San Jose on January 2, Saturday.

On January 18, Monday, an armed robbery took place at the Shoe Palace near Bascom Avenue and San Carlos Street. Officials said the stolen Lexus was used in that robbery.

Milpitas Police officers reportedly spotted the stolen Lexus on E. Calaveras Boulevard Monday afternoon. When the driver, Pacheco, saw the officers, she drove away at a high rate of speed. The officers reportedly did not attempt to stop the vehicle.

At the intersection of N. Park Victoria and Kennedy drives, the stolen Lexus drove through the stop sign. A surveillance camera captured when Pacheco struck a 7-year-old boy riding a bicycle. Our sources sadly confirmed the juvenile died as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel pronounced the boy deceased at a local hospital.

Officials mentioned the child was riding bicycles with his father and sister when the horrible crash took place. The conditions of the other two riders after the incident remained undisclosed.

Shortly after the incident, police located Pacheco after she fled the scene. Authorities charged Pacheco with homicide hit-and-run causing injury or death, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Further investigation on the case is underway.
