Woman Hit and Killed by Vehicle at Grand Avenue and 7th Street
Grover Beach, CA (February 25, 2023) – Police identified Kristin Ghiglia, a 37-year-old woman, as the suspect in a deadly pedestrian accident that occurred last month at Grand Avenue and 7th Street.
The KSBY News reported Ghiglia, of San Luis Obispo, was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling east on Grand Avenue. When the car entered the intersection at 7th Street, the driver struck a woman walking in a marked crosswalk. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the pedestrian.
Officials said the horrible crash took place on January 11 at about 7:15 p.m.
According to the article published online, Ghiglia was traveling at an unsafe speed when the accident happened. Police said they concluded their investigation, and requested to the the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office that Ghiglia be charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence; speeding; and failure to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
