Driver Arrested on DUI Charges After Injury Crash
PALM DESERT, Calif. (July 11, 2018) — Kristin Sweeting, 24 of Banning, was arrested on DUI charges after a collision in the parking lot of the Westfield Shopping Center at 72840 State Highway 111, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision took place about 8:40 p.m. on July 10, 2018. The Palm Desert Police Department sent officers to the scene of the crash inside the parking lot of the Westfield Shopping Center.
They determined that Sweeting was driving a white Chevrolet Cruze in a southbound direction through the shopping center parking lot. At some point, she collided with another vehicle that was driving westbound. Sweeting was questioned by police and they determined she was driving drunk. Police booked the driver into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for driving under the influence of alcohol. It’s unknown if there were any serious injuries involved.
