Kristopher Wilson, 27, Killed in Butte County Head-On Crash on Highway 70
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (July 6, 2021) – Kristopher Wilson was killed after a car crash on Highway 70 near Yankee Hill in Butte County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 27-year-old Oroville man as one of the drivers involved in the wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Kristopher Wilson was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 east on Highway 70 near Yankee Hill in Butte County. At the same time, a 2016 Ford Focus was going west.
2 Cars Collide Near West Branch Bridge
For an unknown reason, the two cars collided head-on, just east of the West Branch Bridge, north of Oroville. Action News Now and KRCRTV News wrote that the accident occurred on July 5 shortly after 3 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and extricated the drivers of both vehicles from the wreckage. Kristopher Wilson died at the scene of the Butte County collision.
An air ambulance took the other motorist to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico where he died. The cause of the fatal Highway 70 crash is still under investigation.
