Mother Killed, Daughter Injured in Collision at Power Inn Road and Elsie Avenue
Sacramento, CA (May 27, 2022) – Police arrested 32-year-old Kryn Michael Spear in connection to a fatal car accident that occurred in the area of Power Inn Road and Elsie Avenue.
According to the Sacramento Bee News, Spear was traveling in the streets of Sacramento County Thursday morning. Earlier reports indicated the man was behind the wheel of a white 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck spotted driving fast and swerving in and out of traffic. When the Chevrolet approached the intersection at Power Inn and Elsie, Spear apparently ran a red light.
The Chevrolet collided with a silver 2014 Ford Explorer occupied by a 35-year-old Sacramento woman and her 4-year-old daughter. The article published online mentioned the woman driving the Ford sadly died in the crash. Meanwhile, responding paramedics rushed the juvenile to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
Hit-and-Run DUI Suspect Jailed After Deadly Car Accident in Sacramento
Officials mentioned Kryn Michael Spear attempted to flee but people at the scene managed to detain him until police arrived. Authorities booked the suspect into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple felony charges including–driving under the influence; hit-and-run; gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated; and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
The South Sacramento CHP Area office is the agency handling the investigation.
