Motorcyclist Killed in Pico Rivera Crash is Identified
PICO RIVERA, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2022) – Kyle Schabel, 50, died in a Pico Rivera motorcycle accident Sunday on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Pico Rivera.
The traffic accident occurred about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30th, according to MyNewsLA and the California Highway Patrol.
Paramedics responded to help the injured rider, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified him as Kyle Schabel.
Authorities report the motorcyclist was riding with other motorcycle riders when for unknown reasons it crashed into the back of a Jeep SUV.
Meanwhile, the rider went down in traffic lanes and vehicles blocked multiple lanes of the freeway.
The roadway reopened about 11:30 p.m. the same night. Police are heading up an investigation into what happened and will determine fault.
