Fatal Hit-and-run Crash in Jurupa Valley
JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (March 16, 2022) –Police arrested Kyle Williams after a pedestrian died in a hit and run accident at Van Buren Boulevard, just north of Clay Street in Jurupa Valley.
The deadly crash happened about 1:38 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station.
Police responded to the scene of the fatal hit and run traffic collision. Paramedics with American Medical Response were also at the intersection to help the pedestrian, but sadly, Victor Gonzales, 30, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team took over the investigation.
Following the hit-and-run crash, Riverside Police Department stopped a vehicle with major front end damage at Arlington Avenue and Cooper Lane in Riverside.
Police Arrest Kyle Williams on Suspicion of Hit-and-Run
The investigation revealed the driver, Kyle Williams, 38, of Moreno Valley, had fled the scene of the accident.
Williams was arrested and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center. His charges include hit and run with great bodily injury.
It’s unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the traffic accident at this time.
Meanwhile, investigators closed down Van Buren Boulevard in both directions between Clay Street and Limonite Avenue.
Authorities did not release the name of the man who died in the pedestrian hit-and-run.
