Kyle Winchell, 22, Guilty in Deadly Car Accident on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road
Tehachapi, CA (March 23, 2021) – Authorities identified 22-year-old Kyle Winchell as the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on July 1, 2018.
The KGET News reported Kyle Winchell was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling at a high-rate of speed on southbound Tehachapi Willow Springs. Preliminary investigation revealed Kyle Winchell attempted to pass several vehicles on blind curves.

Our sources indicated Kyle Winchell allowed to vehicle to travel in the opposite lane. Per news article, a northbound driver veered onto the shoulder of Tehachapi Willow Springs to avoid collision with Winchell. In the process, the passenger vehicle crashed into a truck. Our sources confirmed the innocent driver, 28-year-old Joseph Bistany, sadly died as a result of the incident.
Meanwhile, officials said Winchell continued driving following the catastrophic incident. It remained unclear at this time how and when authorities located the hit-and-run suspect.
On April 21, Wednesday, Kyle Winchell will be sentenced after being found guilty of gross vehicular manslaughter; and hit-and-run in connection with a deadly crash.
