Kyung Shim, 72, Killed in Car Crash on Highway 395 Sunday
Ridgecrest, CA (October 20, 2020) – A 72-year-old woman died in a traffic collision on Highway 395 north of Ridgecrest Sunday afternoon.
According to an article published by KGET, a Toyota Highlander was traveling south on Highway 395 around 4:40 p.m. While driving on the highway, the elderly woman driving the Highlander made a left turn into a rest stop. Detectives believed the driver of the Highlander mistook a stop sign for a four-way stop and proceeded eastbound.
Our sources indicated a second vehicle drove into the intersection at the same time, leading to the crash.
Deadly Car Accident in Ridgecrest, October 18
Responding medics rushed the elderly driver of the Highlander via medivac to a hospital. The woman, later identified as Kyung Shim, sadly died as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, the names of the occupants in the other vehicle involved and their conditions after the crash remained undisclosed.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
