Harley Davidson Motorcycle, Lexus Crash on Torrey Pines Road
LA JOLLA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2018) — A 56-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Thursday night when a car made a left-hand turn in front of the bike in the 2000 block of Torrey Pines Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place about 5:54 p.m. last night. A 77-year-old woman was driving a silver 2009 Lexus SUV eastbound on Torrey Pines Road when she made a turn onto northbound Calle De La Plata. The motorcyclist was unable to stop and crashed his 2016 Harley Davidson into the right side of the SUV.
The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, but the woman was not hurt. He is expected to survive the crash.
Police are investigating the collision, but at this time they do not believe that drugs and or alcohol were factors.

Police are reviewing the circumstances that caused this collision in an effort to determine liability. At this time, it looks like the driver in the car is at fault.
