1 Killed in La Mesa Crash on Interstate 8 at Severin Drive Saturday
LA MESA, CA (January 15, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on the Interstate 8 and Severin Drive in La Mesa.
According to an article published by the NBC San Diego, the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:35 p.m.
The incident happened when multiple cars collided for an unknown reason in La Mesa. The California Highway Patrol said they crashed on the Interstate 8 at Severin Drive.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. CHP did not mention if any other party ended up hurt upon impact.
Meanwhile, 0fficers forced a stretch of the Interstate 8 at Severin to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal La Mesa crash is still under investigation.
