At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident Near El Cajon Boulevard Monday
La Mesa, CA (January 15, 2022) – A suspected hit-and-run collision occurred on Interstate 8 on January 10, Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, two or more vehicles crashed with each other in the westbound side of I-8. The car accident took place just east of El Cajon Boulevard in La Mesa.
CHP logged the case at about 7:12 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found a red Honda Fit disabled on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all occupants of the Honda Fit. After the assessment, officials confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Personal information on the victim have not been discussed thus far.
Authorities said the other cars involved in the mishap fled the scene. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the identity of the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation is underway on the car crash on Interstate 8 in La Mesa.
