Woman, 26, Killed in La Puente Crash at Orange Street and Temple Avenue
LA PUENTE, CA (November 7, 2021) – A DUI crash killed a woman at Orange Street and Temple Avenue in La Puente.
According to an article published by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 12:21 a.m.
The incident began when a 36-year-old man ran a red light at the intersection of Orange Street and Temple Avenue in La Puente.
Man, 36, Arrested For DUI
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said his vehicle then slammed into another car. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They confirmed that the 26-year-old La Puente woman driving the victim vehicle died as a result of the crash. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, deputies determined that the man was under the influence when he hit the other car. They arrested him on suspicion of DUI following his medical release.
Officers forced the area of Orange Street and Temple Avenue to shut down for hours after the wreck. The fatal La Puente DUI crash is still under investigation.
