LA QUINTA, California (March 14, 2016) –– Melissa Ringkamp, 39, of Palm Desert has been arrested late Saturday afternoon following a minor-injury crash at Jefferson and Pomelo streets after it was discovered she was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The crash was reported about 4:58 p.m. when Ringkamp’s white Land Rover was heading northbound on Jefferson Street and crashed into the back of a black SUV near Pomelo Street. The black SUV also crashed into a white sedan due to the impact. One person riding as a passenger in the Land Rover was taken to hospital after complaining of pain to be treated. There was also a juvenile in the Land Rover, but they were not injured.
Police arrested Ringkamp on DUI charges and was booked into the Indio Jail. The crash is under investigation by the La Quinta Police Department.
