Sheriff’s Deputies Honored for 373 DUI Arrests
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 28, 2024) — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for their efforts to prevent drunken driving.
Several LACSD deputies received the MADD Award at a luncheon honoring them for their work to keep the streets of Los Angeles County safe from negligent drunk drivers.
The deputies reportedly arrested 373 drivers for driving under the Influence over the past year. Their dedication and hard work likely saved many lives and prevented many others from being injured in crashes involving DUI motorists.
Their work aligns with MADD’s vision to end drunk and drugged driving and make roads safer for everyone.
Candace Lightner founded MADD in 1980 after her 13-year-old daughter, Cari, was killed by a drunken driver in the Sacramento suburb of Fair Oaks. The nonprofit organization describes itself as a vocal advocate for stricter sentencing, new laws and new technology to reduce drunken driving.
Attorney James Johnson, founder of Johnson Attorneys Group, has been helping injured clients recover damages for their losses for nearly two decades.
