Man Trapped, Injured in Fiery Collision on Highway 73 Saturday
Laguna Beach, CA (July 24, 2021) – One person suffered serious injuries following a car crash that occurred on State Route Highway 73 Saturday afternoon in Laguna Beach.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a solo-vehicle rolled over while traveling north on the highway near State Route 133. For an unknown reason, the man behind the wheel of a white van allowed the automobile to veer away from the traffic lanes. The abrupt movement caused the van to overturn, and eventually hit a fence or a pole off the roadway.
Shortly after 4:51 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the accidents scene and found the van fully engulfed in flames. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate a male party found trapped in the wreckage. After the rescue teams pulled out the man, paramedics checked his condition. The CHP dispatch confirmed the male party sustained major injuries including a broken leg.
At Least 1 Hospitalized After Car Crash in Laguna Beach, July 24
An ambulance reportedly rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation. Additional details on the victim have not been have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the car crash in Laguna Beach.
