1 Critically Injured in Lake Balboa Crash on West Vanowen Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 4, 2022) – One was critically injured after a car crash on Vanowen Street in Lake Balboa.
The Los Angeles Fire Department first logged the accident late Thursday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:08 p.m.
The incident happened when four vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Lake Balboa neighborhood. They crashed at 7730 West Vanowen Street near White Oak Avenue.
In the process, one vehicle hit and toppled a utility pole nearby. LAFD added that the car rolled over upon impact and then plowed into a commercial building.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed one trapped person from the wreckage. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a regional trauma center and listed them in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Officials added that three other people declined care following the wreck. Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Vanowen Street to shut down after the incident.
The cause of the Lake Balboa crash is still under investigation.
