1 Killed, 2 Injured in Lake County Crash on Highway 20 Near Blue Lakes
LAKE COUNTY, CA (July 31, 2021) – A head-on crash killed one person and injured two others on Highway 20 in Lake County.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:51 p.m.
According to CHP, two cars collided head-on for an unknown reason in Lake County. They crashed on westbound Highway 20 near Blue Lakes Road.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found three people hurt as a result of the collision. Two sustained major injuries while the third patient suffered moderate injuries.
The Lake County News confirmed that a victim later died. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced both lanes of Highway 20 to shut down for nearly two hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Lake County crash is still under investigation.
