LAKE ELSINORE, California (November 24, 2015) — Two people were injured Monday night when a driver veered off of 74 Ortega Highway and crashed about 300 to 500 feet over the hillside, about three miles from the South Main Divide, a report by the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The crash took place about 9:01 p.m. just west of Lake Elsinore, California. One of the people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was able to get out and hike up to the roadway, but a second person had to be extricated from the wreckage and was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
A full investigation into what led to the injury crash is underway by police.
