LAKE ELSINORE: 3 Vehicle Crash Railroad Canyon Road; DUI Driver Arrested
Ramiro Barrera, 22, Arrested DUI Charges for Multi-Vehicle Crash
LAKE ELSINORE, California (August 23, 2017) —Ramiro Barrera, 22, has been arrested on DUI charges following a 3-vehicle collision on Railroad Canyon and Church roads, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The injury crash took place about 6:33 p.m. last night.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department responded and found several people injured and three vehicles with major damage.
Police say Barrera was driving his Ford Ranger truck westbound on Railroad Canyon Road at a high rate of speed. He allegedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with a light pole in the center medium. The pole crashed down onto a Toyota YAris that was heading eastbound. The Ford Ranger then crossed over the medium and into eastbound traffic where it struck an Audi sedan.
Paramedics responded and transported several people to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
Lake Elsinore Crash Investigation
Police suspected that Barrera had been drinking. He was arrested and taken to Cois Byrd Detention Center.
