3 Injured in Lake Elsinore Crash on Highway 74 Near County Line

LAKE ELSINORE, CA (October 8, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 74, known as Ortega Highway, in Lake Elsinore.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place late Friday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 11:40 a.m.

According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Lake Elsinore. They crashed on westbound Highway 74, just west of the Riverside County line.

2 Vehicles Collide

The incident log described the cars as a white van and green Toyota pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

A total three people hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel confirmed that one victim sustained major injuries upon impact.

They then took all three patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release their names and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP forced both lanes of Highway 74 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Lake Elsinore crash is still under investigation.
