Man, 56, Seriously Injured in Lake Elsinore Crash on Ortega Highway
LAKE ELSINORE (November 19, 2018) – A driver was seriously injured after a fatal traffic collision Monday along Highway 74, also known as Ortega Highway, according to The Press Enterprise.
The accident was reported at about 4:05 a.m. near the Orange County line.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 2015 Honda Civic was traveling east on Highway 74 when at the same time a 2018 Dodge Challenger was going west.
For an unknown reason, the 25-year-old Lake Elsinore man driving the Civic veered into the westbound lanes where he collided head-on with the Challenger.

The motorist in the Dodge, a 56-year-old Menifee man, was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with major injuries. He was listed in serious but stable condition.
Meanwhile, the operator of the Honda died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.
The names of both the wounded and deceased parties have not been yet released. The entire two-lane highway was forced to shut down for three hours following the crash. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Based on the reports, the male driver of the Honda Civic reportedly drifted into the opposite lane of the highway and caused the collision that led to his death and serious injuries of the other motorist involved.
