Motorcyclist Killed in Lake Elsinore Crash on Ortega Highway Near Lookout
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (April 24, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed after a crash on Ortega Highway, known as Highway 74, near Lake Elsinore.
According to an article published by The Press Enterprise, the tragic accident on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:15 p.m.
A witness told the California Highway Patrol that a small black sedan struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason. The two collided on Ortega Highway near Lake Elsinore.
Motorcyclist Hit by Car on Highway 74
Firefighters along with the paramedics then responded to the scene, just east of Lookout Roadhouse. They found the motorcyclist lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that the patient later died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP added that witnesses saw a group of other motorcyclists threatening the driver of the sedan. Officials soon forced the highway to close in both directions for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Lake Elsinore crash is under investigation.
