LAKE ELSINORE, California (December 5, 2014) –– Madeleine O’Leary, 75, of Lake Elsinore was killed Thursday morning as she crossed the street when a driver struck her at the intersection of Machado Street and Lincoln Avenue, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Paramedics responded to the 9 a.m. pedestrian accident and transported the victim to Inland Valley Medical Center where she died due to massive head trauma about 9:35 a.m. in the emergency room.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department is heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability. The preliminary investigation said a man driving a black 2015 Jeep Wrangler struck the woman in the south crosswalk at the intersection as he attempted to make a left-hand turn from Machado onto Lincoln.
