Lake Isabella crash Highway 178
1 Seriously Injured in Lake Isabella Crash on Highway 178 Near Elizabeth Norris
KERN COUNTY, CA (August 30, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a head-on crash on Highway 178 in Lake Isabella.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:13 p.m.
CHP said two pickup trucks collided head-on for an unknown reason in Lake Isabella. They crashed on westbound Highway 178, a mile just east of Elizabeth Norris Road.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
The incident log added that one of the cars involved caught fire upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the area of Bodfish.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 178 to shut down for more than one hour following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Lake Isabella crash.
