Fatal Car Accident on State Route 60 in Riverside County
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (July 27, 2018) — Lakee Cockrell (AKA Edwards), 44, of Riverside, died early Friday morning in a crash on the eastbound state Route 60 Freeway, about three miles west of Jack Rabbit Trail, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 5:50 a.m. in the No. 1 lane in the unincorporated Moreno Valley community. The pickup truck was on its side and there was a person in the roadway after the crash.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded and had to extricate one person trapped in the vehicle. One person died at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
