1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash at Grand and Vail
LAKE ELSINORE (October 25, 2018) – A driver was seriously injured after a fatal traffic collision in the area of Grand Avenue and Vail Street on Thursday, according to The Press Enterprise and Lake Elsinore Patch.
The accident involving two vehicles took place just before 5 p.m. in the community of Lakeland Village.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a man was driving a 2009 Ford Focus south on Grand Avenue at about 50 mph when at the same time another man was headed north in a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban.
For an unknown reason, the Ford swerved over the center line and into northbound lanes, where it ultimately collided head-on with the Chevrolet.

Fire department officials responded and attended to the motorist in the Suburban who was then immediately taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
The operator of the Focus was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, Grand Avenue was forced to shut down after the crash but was then reopened at around 7:15 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.

Based on the news reports, the male driver of the Ford Focus may be held liable for the crash that seriously injured another driver. The motorist allegedly drifted into the oncoming traffic and struck the other car.
