LAKEPORT (January 9, 2017)- According to the Lake County News, a DUI crash resulted in a man’s injuries and another man’s arrest Saturday evening on Highway 29 at Highway 175.
At roughly 9:30 p.m., Dustin Solmonson, 41, of Middletown, had been stopped at a red light driving a 2012 Mini Cooper. He was waiting to make a left onto southbound Highway 29 when he was suddenly struck on the drivers side of the Coop by a 23-year-old man identified as Dakota John Thompson, 23.
Thompson was the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser who lost control for unknown reasons causing the crash.
Per the report, Solmonson was severely injured with lacerated spleen and facial injuries. He was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital and remained hospitalized as of Monday.
Thompson was confirmed to have been under the influence and was arrested and taken to Lake County Jail and is currently being held at $30,000 bail.
